The short version
Your notebook lives on your own devices. We do not run accounts, we do not keep your pages, and we have no analytics. When the AI tutor looks at your page, a picture of it goes to the AI provider: through our tutor server, which keeps none of it, or through your own computer if you paired one.

What stays on your device
- Your pages, drawings, chats, imported PDFs, settings and backups are stored on the device you use (the iPad keeps your pages; a paired computer only processes what the iPad sends it for a tutor check and keeps no pages). We have no copy.
- The app does not ask for an AI key of your own. A key an older version saved is deleted from the device the first time the new version starts. The secret that pairs the app with your computer stays in the device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain, or a private file on a computer) and is never sent to us.
- We run no accounts and no sign-in, and we collect no analytics, advertising identifiers or crash reports.
What leaves your device, and where it goes

What the AI provider does with it is governed by their terms and privacy policy, not ours. Anthropic: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Check your own plan's settings about training on your data.
Pairing with your computer uses plain http on your home or private Wi-Fi, which is not encrypted. Pair only on a network you trust, never on public Wi-Fi. While Notebook AB is open on your computer, it tells devices on the same Wi-Fi the computer's name, so your tablet can find it; nothing else is announced, and you can turn this off in Settings, Pair with a computer.
Our tutor server (the built-in tutor only)
The tutor server holds our own AI key, checks that your install has access and has allowance left, passes the picture and words of one call to Anthropic, and returns the answer. It stores no picture, no text and no answer. For each install it keeps the install code, and for each call the time, the kind of task (for example "live check") and its cost, for 14 days; monthly totals are kept for 90 days, to enforce the monthly allowance. Its log has one line per request with a short hash of the install code and no address or content; the web server in front of it keeps no access log (its error log may hold an address for a request that failed). "Delete all my data" asks the server to delete your install's records too. The server runs in Germany.
The relay server (shared notebooks only)
The relay forwards encrypted messages between members of a shared notebook. It stores the encrypted messages so someone who was offline can catch up. It can see your IP address and the time of each connection, because any server does. It cannot read page content, names of notebooks, or keys. The relay keeps the encrypted messages and files of a notebook until the notebook is deleted. The relay program itself does not log client addresses; the web server in front of it may keep standard access logs for 14 days and then deletes them. The relay runs on a server in Germany.
Apple and other platforms
If you install through TestFlight or the App Store, Apple handles the install and, for TestFlight, your email address and the crash data you allow in iOS settings. See Apple's own privacy policy. We receive from TestFlight only what Apple shows the developer: your email or name if you accept an invite, and the feedback you choose to send.
Who it is for
Notebook AB is for adults, aged 18 or older, studying at a university or college. We do not knowingly collect data from children. We do not market it to schools. Before you buy the tutor, the app asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older. It records only that you confirmed (a yes and the date) on your own device; we do not ask for your date of birth or an ID.
Your content
You are responsible for what you add to your notebook. Do not import material you have no right to share with an AI provider (for example exams or slides you must not copy). The app shows what it shares before its first use.
Your choices and rights
- Delete everything: delete a page or a notebook, or use Settings, Data and privacy, "Delete all my data", which removes everything Notebook AB keeps on that device (pages, chats, backups, settings, saved keys, paired devices) and asks our tutor server to delete this install's records. Deleting the app does the same on the iPad, except that the tutor server's records then expire on their own (14 and 90 days, above). Shared notebooks: deleting a notebook removes it from the relay; copies other members already have stay with them.
- Unpair a computer: on the iPad, Settings, Pair with a computer, "Forget this computer"; on the computer, remove the device under paired devices.
- Export: you can export pages as PDF or PNG at any time.
- Ask us: because we hold no account or page content, there is usually nothing for us to give or delete. Write to [email protected] and we will tell you exactly what we hold (usually: your emails, if you wrote to us).
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you before the new rules apply. The date at the top changes every time.

מה נשאר במכשיר שלך

Apple ופלטפורמות אחרות

למי זה מיועד
Notebook AB מיועדת למבוגרים בני 18 ומעלה שלומדים באוניברסיטה או במכללה. אנחנו לא אוספים ביודעין מידע מילדים ולא משווקים לבתי ספר.
התוכן שלך
האחריות על מה שאתה מוסיף למחברת היא שלך. אל תייבא חומר שאין לך זכות לשתף עם ספק AI (למשל מבחנים או שקפים שאסור להעתיק). האפליקציה מציגה מה היא משתפת לפני השימוש הראשון.
הבחירות והזכויות שלך
- מחיקה של הכל: מוחקים דף או מחברת, או משתמשים בהגדרות, נתונים ופרטיות, "מחיקת כל הנתונים שלי", שמסירה את כל מה ש־Notebook AB שומר באותו מכשיר (דפים, שיחות, גיבויים, הגדרות, מפתחות שמורים, מכשירים מצומדים) ומבקשת משרת המורה למחוק את הרשומות של ההתקנה. באייפד, מחיקת האפליקציה עושה את אותו הדבר, חוץ מזה שהרשומות בשרת המורה פגות אז מעצמן (14 ו-90 יום, למעלה). במחברת משותפת: מחיקת מחברת מסירה אותה מהממסר; עותקים שכבר יש לחברים אחרים נשארים אצלם.
